Why Color Street nail polish strips as a business?
Ok ladies… we all have that ONE thing that we maintain 100% all of the time. I have friends whose wardrobe is on point from head to toe. I have friends whose main beauty focus is their hair. Perhaps, it’s your makeup. While I have gone through periods of experimenting with all of those, they’ve never really been my thing. However, my nails… that’s my jam! I guess you can say I think I have nice hands/nails, I’m not trying to lose weight in my fingers, I’m not worried how I look in this “polish”, and I know how to apply! I’ve been going to a salon and getting my nails done consistently for 15+ years. Naked nails… I dare not!
Now, historically, I had the MOST amazing hair and nail stylist. She was a rare gem. Hanging out with her during my appointments was 70% the joy… the fact that she did a great job was just an added perk! (PS if you are looking for an amazing hairdresser in the Fleetwood PA area go check out Ashley at Lords and Ladies in Fleetwood, you can find her on Instagram here). The thought of leaving her was one of the hardest relationships to leave behind when I moved across the country…. as well as the anxiety of finding someone new.
I tried a few places, and the joy of going to the salon for a mani/pedi was replaced with poor customer service, increased prices, and poor quality. I don’t know about you… but getting my nails done was part of my self care routine- it was supposed to be fun and relaxing…. not stressful and quite honestly, annoying! Nothing irritated me more then waiting extended periods of time, just to get a manicure that chipped a day after leaving.
Insert Color Street. A friend of mine introduced me to the company almost three years ago, before they even launched. At the time, I was running a direct sales business with another company and wasn’t looking to make a change. However, I followed her journey in launching her own Color Street business, tried the product, and hosted a few parties (I mean, who doesn’t love free product!).
If you are new to Color Street, the most commonly asked question is “do they last”. Trust me, I asked it 100 times before I was willing to try them. Here’s what you need to know. They are 100% real nail polish. Each strip has, at minimum, a base coat, the color/design, and a top coat. They come vacuum sealed in a plastic packaging and a plastic protective covering, and a paper backing. They are flexible, you can gently stretch them to get the perfect fit, and they are even able to be moved and adjusted if you didn’t place it quite right the first time. Each pack comes with 16 strips allowing you to custom match to your own nail size. They last 10+ days, I’ve experienced minimal peeling/chipping, and they come off with just regular nail polish remover. Best yet, it requires no tools and no dry time! Oh…. and I don’t dare forget… they are made right here in the USA!!
I’ll be honest, I was soooo resistant for so long! I was like yah, I’m good! I’ve now been using them for almost a year consistently. I tried to go back to gel manicures at the salon and got sooo annoyed when I spent 4x the amount of color street and they didn’t last. I’ve legit tried to not like the strips! And, now, here I am 🤣
Color Street as a business just made sense! It’s a product I am consistently using, so I may as well get paid to have nice nails! But more than that, I was able to join my friend who offered me the opportunity almost three years ago and her amazing team. They have some of the top industry leaders on this team and have training resources that simply blow my mind! The team culture is the exact culture that draws people in… that you want to be a part of… because trust me, I’ve been quietly watching from the side lines! (Business tip moment: if you are someone trying to grow your team, let this remind you “no” does not mean “never”, it simply means “not right now”!).
The compensation plan is impressive, the rewards are generous, and you have the ability to enjoy cash bonuses without building a team! That is something very unique to Color Street- as most companies comp plans increase via team building. While that's definitely the way to get the most bang for your buck as far as compensation goes…. you are able to receive bonus commissions on your own sales! Oh, and for those worried about the S word (saturation), get out of town! Color Street is still new, still growing, and still soooooo many people who have not tried it or haven’t a clue what it is!
